 The MacIveys

The MacIveys were a family from Florida  who battled the hardships of the frontier to rise from a poor cracker life to the wealth and standing of real estate tycoons. No matter what they did they always saw themselves in fight.They fought with bears, mosquitoes, starvation, hurricanes, and cold nights but no matter how hard things got they always fight their way back to the top. Tobias and Emma MacIvey were the married couple then there were Zecheriah also known as Zech there son and there two grandsons Sol and Toby.They moved to Florida in 1858 to start. a new life in the wilderness, two generations later in 1968 Solomon MacIvey realized the land had been exploited far behind human need.Their most formidable adversary turned out to be greed including their own. The hopes and passion for each generation, friendships persecuted blacks and indians and respect for the land.
