On the 25th of March I decided to visit The Jackie Robison Ballpark. It was a lot of choices for me to pick from for my historic sight view. It literally took me a couple days to decide where to go. I finally narrowed my choices down so I picked the Jackie Robison Ballpark for two reasons one because I've never been there and two I felt that it would be the perfect spot to go to for my site visit!

The Jackie Robison Ballpark was based off of the famous black African American Jackie Robison. Jackie pretty much came from nothing was born and raised inn Cairo, Georgia. He grew up with a single mom who and three other siblings.Jackie story reminds me of the Macivey's in the book A land to Remember. The Macivey's were also a poor black family who came from nothing until they moved to Florida and became wealthy.Jackie Robison family was the only black family on the block and the prejudice they encountered made them come strong together.Jackie reminds me of Tobias because they both would do anything to take care of there family.

This picture right here reminds me of how close Tobias is with his son Zech. They would do everything as I read in A land Remembered Tobias would always show Zech how to do things the right way.The picture was my favorite part because it touched me in many ways Jackie was one of the athletes that paved a way for my generation and many more generations. He helped stop segregation between whites and blacks he also helped by being one of the guys to be able to play sports together with whites and not being kicked off the field. He always led by example no matter how bad things gotten or the bad names he was called. Thank you Jackie Robison for paving the way for me and many others !

Overall this trip was amazing to me and my nieces. I felt that it was very educational and I felt that I knew why the Ballpark was built after leaving.I learned so many things about Jackie that I never knew about thats why I stated that he reminds me of Tobias in the book A Land Remembered. They both have good hearts and they will do anything to take care of their family.I would recommend this trip to many others because it was history being made there.
